The European Green Deal is the current European growth strategy that aims to transform the European Union (EU) into a fair and prosperous society with a modern, resource-efficient, and competitive economy. This strategy seeks to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, with economic growth decoupled from resource use. Relations with the EU focus on modernizing the Republic of Moldova (RM) by aligning with EU norms and standards in all areas. These norms and standards generally correspond to international best practices, so RM does not need to “reinvent the wheel” in complex technical areas but instead focus on implementing sustainable development principles, supported by the EU, and learning from the vast experience of European countries.
The goal of the training program is to teach administrative staff in vocational and technical education institutions. Knowledge of sustainable development and European best practices will enable educators and administrators to improve their professional training programs and disseminate useful information to future professionals. This will contribute to the early formation and education of responsible behavior in production and consumption.
As part of this training, we intend to create a discussion platform that facilitates the implementation of innovative ideas in green production and services, which will contribute to creating a fair, ecological, and high-tech environment in society. The specialized module Sustainable Development in the Context of European Integration will provide an opportunity to consolidate knowledge, communicate on sustainability and European integration issues specific to different sectors of the economy, find new collaborators and ideas for cooperation, and disseminate best teaching practices in training future specialists for the national economy.
Upon completion of the training program, participants will be able to apply specific teaching methodologies for concepts, processes, principles, and procedures regarding sustainable development in the context of European integration. They will develop the following competencies:
- improved awareness of the European integration phenomenon;
- recognition of the EU’s leadership role in promoting sustainable development and its economic, social, and environmental aspects;
- understanding the role of policies in industry, energy, circular economy, digitalization, innovation, competitiveness, and entrepreneurship in the sustainable development process;
- analysis of Moldova’s progress in implementing sustainable development principles and European integration;
- identification of areas of interest and development of a study in this field on European best practices regarding sustainable development implementation.
