Nicoleta Pociumban, a third-year student majoring in Business and Administration at the UTM Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business, has secured the third place in the prestigious international competition for student scientific papers, “Black Sea Science,” held annually at the Odessa National University of Technology.
Under the auspices of the Black Sea Universities Network and the ISEKI-Food Association, the competition serves as a platform for young researchers from various fields to showcase their talents on the international stage. This year’s edition focused on priority areas like Food Science and Technology, Economics and Management, Information Technology, Automation and Robotics, Energy and Energy Efficiency, Ecology and Environmental Protection, Tourism, and Hospitality Business.

Nicoleta’s contribution delved into her field of study, Economics and Management, with her paper “The impact of inflation on entrepreneurial development and living standards in Moldova and the European Union.” Guided by Associate Professor Dr. Iuliu Țurcan, Ms. Pociumban meticulously dissected the phenomenon of inflation, highlighting its unpredictable economic and social consequences. Through a comparative analysis between Moldova and the European Union, Nicoleta’s work shed light on how inflation affects prices and quality of life, providing valuable insights for policymakers and economists across both regions.
Ms. Pociumban’s achievement underscores the importance of involving young people in research activities throughout their university experience. Her participation in this competition not only demonstrated her research and analytical skills but also underscored her dedication to contributing to international research projects.
