The winners of the International Student Competition “Microelectronic Systems Engineering – Sergiu Rădăuțan”, 2023

On Wednesday, May 10, the Tekwill ICT Excellence Center hosted the 12th edition of the International Student Competition “Microelectronic Systems Engineering – SERGIU RĂDĂUȚAN”, organized by the UTM Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics, Department of Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering.

The competition was attended by 28 teams made up of students from the Republic of Moldova (Technical University of Moldova; Center of Excellence in Energy Science and Electronics), Romania (Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iasi; Transilvania University of Brașov; Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași; Politehnica University of Timișoara) and Ukraine (Vinnytsia National Technical University; National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”).

At the opening of the competition, the participants were greeted by the founder of the competition – Prof., Dr. Victor ȘONTEA; the president of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova – Acad. & Prof. Ion TIGHINEANU, Dr. habil.; the UTM vice-rector – Prof., Vasile TRONCIU, Dr. habil.; the dean of the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics – Assoc. Prof., Dr. Dumitru CIORBĂ; the head of the Department of Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering – Prof. Oleg LUPAN, Dr. habil.

Throughout the 12 editions, the purpose of the competition remained the same: encouraging the advancement of young people’s application development skills in the field of microelectronic systems, robotics, systems and applications with microcontrollers, biomedical devices, etc., as well as involving students in the alternative educational approach – initiating and applying/implementing.

This year’s edition of the Competition was supported by the Technical University of Moldova; the Society of Graduates in Microelectronics of the Technical University of Moldova; the Society of Biomedical Engineering from Moldova; the Association of Electronics Companies in Moldova; ÎM AROBS Software SRL; ÎTȘ Informbusiness SRL; Mechatronics Innovation Center SRL; SafeLogic SRL; DJV-Com SRL; Simpals SRL; Aproservice-X SRL; MobileSoft Solutions SRL; LED Market SRL; MedLux Group SRL; The GreeSCI project (GA 101060678), but also by companies from Romania – Microchip Technology SRL.

The Student Competition “Microelectronic Systems Engineering – SERGIU RĂDĂUȚAN” has become a special event and a tradition in the history of UTM, as well as a great opportunity for future engineers to demonstrate their ingenuity and effort!
