On January 16-20, Univ. Lect., Dr. Eng. Cristina EFREMOV, vice-dean at the UTM Faculty of Design, participated in the ERASMUS+KA1 – Staff Mobility for Teaching (SMT) at POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest, Romania.
The main focus of the mobility program was carrying out teaching in the field of sustainable energy systems in a wider, international environment. The language of instruction – Romanian, allocated teaching time – 8 hours, total number of students – 20.
In the context of the modernization and internationalization strategies of the institutions involved, the Technical University of Moldova (Republic of Moldova, Chisinau) and the POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest (Romania) conducted the following activities in support of sustainable development:
- Providing feedback and exchange of experience regarding the specific situation in Romania and, respectively, in the Republic of Moldova concerning the field of sustainable energy systems;
- Promoting the exchange of experience regarding innovative methods and practices in the field of education and research;
- Creating and developing new collaborations between FEE/UPB and FEIE/UTM;
- Including content on energy storage systems through hydro storage and sustainable energy generation in the teaching program;
- Conducting a work meeting regarding the possibility of joint resubmission of the project within the Erasmus+ Capacity Building Strand II program, European Union – Enforce Sustainable development of Resilient Energy Communities in a Green Deal Paradigm / ENSURE-ECO-GD, and contributing to its improvement;
- Activities related to the development of an application manual regarding the storage of electric energy and electric vehicles, for a sustainable and resilient society based on clean energy, through the collaboration between the specialists of the two academic institutions;
- Discussions and meetings with the teaching staff in reference to increasing the performance and continuity of the development of academic relations through participation in joint projects within the EU, etc.
In addition to obtaining teaching experience in an international context, accumulating new information and methods of knowledge transmission, strengthening the intercultural competence of the two institutions (UTM and UPB) and the comparative analysis of the students’ abilities within the two institutions, this mobility program revealed that the Technical University of Moldova is a catalyst for the development of society in the Republic of Moldova through the growth of the academic environment, based on educational competitiveness and scientific research, both at the national level, and through the recognition of the teaching staff at the international level.
