As a result of officially fulfilling all required conditions, on January 13, 2023, UTM became a Pearson VUE SELECT Test Center.
Thus, the Technical University of Moldova is part of one of the most important networks of test centers around the world – PEARSON VUE (Virtual University Enterprises), within which hundreds of certified exams can be accessed, not only in the field of IT, but also on topics in the financial, medical and military field: American Society for Nondestructive Testing, Autodesk Certification Program, Blue Prism, Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals, Cardiovascular Credentialing International, Chainshine Financial Training, Chartered Global Management Accountant, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Check Point Software Technologies, Citrix Systems, CompTIA Testing, Dental Core Training, Digital Marketing Institute, Foundation Pharmacist Recruitment, HPE, Huawei, IBM, Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, Institute of Internal Auditors, International Association for Health Coaches, International Capital Market Association, Linux Professional Institute Testing, National Restaurant Association, National Strength and Conditioning Association, Palo Alto Networks, Google Cloud, etc.

Among the advantages of earning certifications, Mr. Țurcanu mentioned: “A Diploma of Higher Education is based on a well-defined framework involving the curriculum followed during the 3-5 years of studying at the faculty. Any employer is aware that, although the “Diploma Supplement”, or the level of theoretical knowledge of the graduate, even in the case of honor roll students, is undoubtedly proof of the high level of training of the young engineer, it is solely a foundation – the starting point in one’s professional training. In other words, the employer is interested in the graduate’s practical abilities, which cannot be deduced from the University Diploma alone. The employer needs something more than the Diploma, for instance, a document that would certify the young engineer’s specialization in a specific field, a certification being an objective criterion for assessing the knowledge base necessary to handle the specific challenges of the profession. As an example, the certification offered by an IT organization proves the professional training of an IT specialist, constituting a guarantee of his competence relative to the products and technologies offered by that organization. Certifications have become a standard in the IT industry, an evaluation criterion that shows that the holder has the necessary expertise to meet the current demands of the IT industry. The demand for certified personnel is greater than ever. We note that, according to Pearson VUE, there are 3 types of test centers: Pearson VUE authorized test center, Pearson Professional test center owned and operated only by Pearson VUE, and Pearson VUE Select Authorized Test Center – currently owned by UTM. Select test centers are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies for identity verification and examination supervision. Pearson VUE currently only accepts applications for simple authorized centers and does not accept applications for Select centers, as the latter are selected through a complex assessment process.
