The average age of employees in the three sectors is under 35, and the salaries for a junior/beginner are 10-12 thousand lei.

The introduction of new specialties in the curriculum was possible thanks to the Future Technologies Project, funded by USAID and the Government of Sweden. The project director Doina Nistor expresses her enthusiasm regarding this important step and the new perspectives that are opening up to young people in Moldova. „Moldovan universities will educate new generation specialists for over 20 professions in the Createch sector, required within both the national and international market: sound designer, producer, animator, VR/AR programmer, UX/UI designer, 3D modeling, etc. Animation, Game Design and New Media are the fastest growing industries globally in the creative sector. The Republic of Moldova already has a well-developed creative sector with over 2,000 companies that had a turnover of 150 million dollars in 2020″, mentions Doina Nistor.

These programs were included in the admission program in response to labor market demand, which means that the number of jobs in these fields has increased significantly in recent years, exceeding the number of specialists on the market.

Game Design, Animation and Multimedia are experiencing the fastest growth in the entertainment sectors. The value of the gaming industry in 2021 was 180 billion USD, an increase of 14.4% compared to 2020, that of animation – will reach the value of 642.5 billion USD by 2030, and new media – a turnover of 837 billion USD by 2026.
