Constantin BOROSAN – winner of the TUM Senate Award

Constantin BOROSAN, univ. lect. in the Department of Power Engineering, Faculty of Power and Electrical Engineering, has declared himself honored to receive the Award “Laureate in the field of teaching – beginner”, awarded by the Senate of the Technical University of Moldova.

This award was given to me for the initiative to introduce a new learning format within the course “Energy Policies and the Energy Market”, taught to graduating students at the Faculty of Power and Electrical Engineering, says Professor Constantin BOROSAN, pointing out that this award motivates him to further transform the challenges posed by the pandemic into new opportunities for students.

Professor Borosan invited well-known professionals in the field of energy and climate policies, as well as the energy market, to participate in the classes conducted online, an invitation accepted even by fellow lecturers within FEIE, who work in public organizations and/or are involved in technical assistance projects implemented with the support of the European Union. Of particular interest were the pressing topics in the field, which are provided in the curriculum of the course, such as “Liberalized Energy Market: Energy Package III”, “Policies in the field of energy efficiency”, “Policies to promote sources of renewable energy”, “Environmental policies and the decarbonization of the national economy”, “Liberalization of the electricity market in the Republic of Moldova”. These topics generate valuable discussions between specialists with experience in the field and the young generations of engineers.

Given that his efforts are aimed exclusively at improving the skills of future energy specialists, he considers that the opinion of students is the most objective reflection of the efforts made in this context. Thus, during the semester and at the end of the course, he initiated a series of surveys among students, and the results were commendable.

Congratulations, Professor!
