“If you have a big dream, and you feed it with passion and a lot of effort, it will surely come true”, says the graduate of the Faculty of Food Technology of the Technical University of Moldova, Ecaterina GORE, emphasizing how UTM offered her a splendid academic career with “French aromas”.

After graduating from the Zâmbreni village High School in 2007, Ecaterina’s passion for chemistry encouraged her to choose a field which combines chemistry with engineering, thus applying to UTM, at the Faculty of Technology and Management in Food Industry, currently under the name of Faculty of Food Technology, at the Francophone Branch “Technologies Alimentaires”.

She recalls the nostalgic first days of her studies, when she was admiring the students of the Francophone Branch who had the opportunity to benefit from an internship in France. That’s when she became determined to follow them, this beautiful dream coming true in her third year, when she obtained a 3-month scholarship to follow an internship in the field of winemaking, in France. The research fascinated her and encouraged her to continue her studies, so that after graduating in 2011, she obtained a second scholarship in France, pursuing a Master’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition in Nantes, which she successfully finished in 2012. Ecaterina pursued her doctorate in the same field, particularly researching the nutritional quality of the famous French cheeses. In July 2016, she received her doctorate in science, and since September of the same year, she has been working at the Université Le Havre Normandie, as an associate professor and researcher.

Ecaterina urges high school graduates to choose to study at the Francophone Branch within the FTA-UTM, which could help them “conquer” France in the academic and scientific research field.
