The Technical University of Moldova received a visit from the Delegation of the Self-Government Office for Education of Jeju Province, Republic of Korea.
The purpose of the visit was to identify methods of academic collaboration, the establishment of partnerships in the field of STEM, but also in Information Technology. The members of the delegation, accompanied by Angela PRISĂCARU, the General Education Directorate, Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, were welcomed by the rector of UTM, prof. univ., dr. hab. Viorel BOSTAN, and vice-rector Dinu ȚURCANU, who organized a study visit around the university campuses, the Center of Excellence in ICT – Tekwill, the prototype and small-scale production workshop FabLab Chișinău, the MicroLab Engineering Club, but also the laboratories and the new course rooms of the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics (FCIM).
The dean of FCIM, associate professor, dr. Dumitru CIORBĂ, spoke to the guests about the academic activity and curricular programs offered by the Faculty, followed by the rector’s academic and scientific presentation of the University.
The guests were impressed by the UTM heritage, mentioning the importance of the development of the University – the only institution of higher technical education, but also of engineering, for the development of the national economy, pointing firmly: Engineers create the Future!
