Between October 5th and 6th, in the Romanian-French Theoretical High School “Gheorghe Asachi” from Chisinau, the Republican Powerlifting Championship 2019 was held, WDFPF version.
During the competition, UTM student Dumitru CALMÎC was ranked 1st in all 3 competitions. Also, his colleagues, UTM students Tudor POPESCU and Anrei GOMENIUC, got 1st place in their respective categories.
Thus, the UTM powerlifting team, led by coach Boris REUTOV, has once again proven that sport is part of the life of a well-organized student and that the Technical University of Moldova play performance sports, which is perfectly combined with the educational process.
We remind you that in May 2018, UTM athlete Dumitru CALMÎC placed first in the European Powerlifting Championship, and in November 2018, he set a new world record in the World Powerlifting Championship “WDFPF World Full Power 2018” in Glasgow, Scotland. The young man placed second and set a new world record for lifting from horizontal position – 127.5kg.
And soon student Dumitru CALMÎC will participate in the World Championship, which will be held in Germany.
