The Return of “SCIENCE TIME MACHINE” to Chișinău: A Major Step Toward the Future of Innovation in Moldova

On March 26, 2025, the Technical University of Moldova and the PROSPERA Educational Center marked an important milestone for science education in Moldova by signing a partnership agreement that brings the traveling exhibition “SCIENCE TIME MACHINE” back to Chișinău. This event, which captured the imagination of young people and science enthusiasts last year, promises once again to inspire and help shape a new generation of innovators.

The agreement, signed by UTM Rector Professor Viorel Bostan and PROSPERA Director Rodica Crețu, highlights both institutions’ shared commitment to promoting science and innovation among youth. Viorel Bostan emphasized UTM’s openness to collaborations that spark interest in physics, chemistry, biology, mechanics, and engineering, while Rodica Crețu stressed the importance of making science accessible and engaging for everyone.

“SCIENCE TIME MACHINE” is a unique exhibition that showcases how inventions have shaped our world, from Archimedes to Nikola Tesla. Designed and built by Moldovan producers and engineers, the exhibits offer an interactive and educational experience, allowing visitors to explore the scientific principles behind each invention. Guided tours, available in two languages, and the hands-on nature of the exhibits turn learning into an exciting adventure.

This year’s edition includes an exciting addition: a telescope from UTM’s Observatory, giving visitors the chance to explore the mysteries of the universe and engage with science in new and innovative ways. This meaningful enhancement underscores the exhibition’s commitment to providing a diverse and enriching educational experience.

The opening event, scheduled for late April at UTM, welcomes all science enthusiasts but especially targets young people aspiring to become Moldova’s future Marie Curies and Nikola Teslas. “SCIENCE TIME MACHINE” is more than an educational opportunity—it’s a source of inspiration for exploration and innovation.

The return of the “SCIENCE TIME MACHINE” to Chișinău is a significant step in promoting science education in Moldova. It not only brings science closer to young minds but also encourages creativity and innovative thinking, playing a vital role in shaping a generation of future leaders in science and technology.
