UTM Students Conquer the Digital Marketing Universe with the “Conquer the Internet” Simulation

How can you become a successful strategist in digital marketing? What decisions drive an effective campaign? How does data analysis impact business outcomes? These were just some of the questions that students from the “Marketing and Logistics” undergraduate program and the “Digital Marketing” master’s program at the UTM Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business explored through the interactive simulation “Conquer the Internet,” developed by the consulting company Rigel&Crew (https://rigelcrew.com/).

Integrated into the “Digital Marketing” course, the simulation provided young marketers with hands-on experience, allowing them to manage digital marketing campaigns in a dynamic and complex virtual environment. Under the guidance of professors Tatiana Munteanu and Dumitru Talmazan, students embraced the challenge—exercising their creativity, analyzing data, and making strategic decisions to optimize campaign performance.

A key element of this experience was deepening their understanding of “Marketing Research,” under the coordination of course instructors Rodica Burbulea and Andrei Gangan. The transition from theory to practice was truly evident—students conducted research, developed strategies, and performed in-depth analyses. Using additional resources such as dedicated online guides and materials, they worked on detailed case studies, examining consumer behavior, target audience preferences, and key factors influencing purchasing decisions. By leveraging relevant data and modern analytical tools, they fine-tuned their strategies and allocated budgets efficiently, simulating real-world business scenarios.

This simulation was an outstanding opportunity for both undergraduate and master’s students at FIEB, offering them a clear perspective on the dynamics of digital markets and strengthening essential skills for a marketing career. They directly experienced industry challenges, gaining a deeper understanding of the decision-making process and the importance of effective digital strategies.

The success achieved by FIEB-UTM students and master’s candidates proves that applied education—combined with expert faculty guidance and collaboration with top industry partners—is the key to training future top-tier specialists.

Congratulations to all participants, and a sincere thank you to our partners for this exceptional learning opportunity!
