Two leading representatives of the Technical University of Moldova, world-renowned scientists – Prof., Dr. habil. Oleg LUPAN and Acad. Ion TIGHINEANU, have propelled the Republic of Moldova in the international ranking of scientists.
The name of the most recognized scientist from the Republic of Moldova in the world – Prof., Dr. habil. Oleg LUPAN, head of the Department of Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering within the UTM Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics, can be found in the field of Materials Science, having the Discipline H-index = 63.
Acad., Dr. habil. Ion TIGHINEANU, the director of the UTM National Center for Study and Testing of Materials, managed to appear in two fields: Materials Science (with the Discipline H-index = 53) and Electronics and Electrical Engineering (D = 43).
These successes have helped the Technical University of Moldova to be placed in the 2023 Ranking of the best universities in the world in the field of Materials Science (rank 524), as well as in the field of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (rank 543).
At the same time, research.com notes that the Technical University of Moldova is rated as the best university in the Republic of Moldova, having 2 scientists in the Materials Science department, with a total index D = 116. UTM is followed in this ranking by USM. Thus, with 2 listed universities, the Republic of Moldova ranks 43rd in the world.
