Petru VOLOȘIN, FIEB-UTM student: “The time spent at the University of Plovdiv will always have a special place in my heart!”

It is one of the main priorities of the Technical University of Moldova to consistently and effectively create opportunities for its students. Such is the case of the 8 undergraduates of the UTM Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business, who benefited from the Erasmus+ student mobility program at the University of Plovdiv. One of the participants – Petru VOLOȘIN, 2nd year student within the “Accounting” programme, shared with us his joy of studying at a leading institution in Bulgaria.

       – For me, the possibility of visiting a foreign country and pursuing an education abroad was a goal that I had longed for for a long time, says Petru VOLOȘIN. Even though I had often imagined how this would happen, I have never thought that the University of Plovdiv could become my destination, thanks to the ERASMUS+ program!

As the second largest city in Bulgaria, after Sofia, Plovdiv is also one of the oldest cities in Europe. I was stunned by its many Greek and Roman ruins and awed by the history behind them.

I arrived in Plovdiv a few days before the beginning of the academic semester. During this time, I met Donika and Dora – the ladies responsible for managing the necessary paperwork of the students participating in the mobility program. After settling in the hostel, we set sail for the journey through Plovdiv. This adventure impacted me greatly, as I had the opportunity to “feel” the history of this old city through witnessing its 4000 years old ruins and enjoy its amazing landscapes from the top of the nearby hills.

In the following days, I got to know the teachers, who turned out to be very friendly and communicative, leading me to think that this academic year will be a fantastic one. This was an opportunity to deepen my knowledge both in the English language, as well as in the field of economics.

Now, at the end of the mobility program, I feel quite homesick, but I know that the time I spent in Bulgaria will always have a special place in my heart.
