From September 16-20, 2024, the Technical University of Moldova is hosting a distinguished delegation from the University of Strasbourg (Unistra), France. This visit is part of the Erasmus+ MIC (International Credit Mobility) project, a collaborative initiative between the two universities running from 2023 to 2026.
Bringing a wealth of academic experience and significant contributions in key fields, the French delegation consists of four professors from IUT Louis Pasteur:
– Jean-Claude Million, a management professor specializing in entrepreneurship and business development, plays a crucial role in shaping future entrepreneurs at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
– Christophe Marcic, a professor of analytical and environmental chemistry, is a leading expert in laboratory best practices, making a substantial impact on the education of future scientific specialists.
– Michaël Morin, a lecturer in electrical engineering, provides top-tier training in machine safety and electrical engineering.
– Amandine Mathieu, a lecturer in economics and management with a focus on accounting, law, and taxation, gives students a strong foundation in critical areas of the global economy. She also emphasized the value of the long-term partnership between UTM and Unistra, noting how their joint projects have strengthened academic ties and created valuable opportunities for students and faculty alike.
In addition to the academic sessions and scheduled visits at UTM, the French delegation was warmly welcomed by UTM Rector, Prof. Dr. Viorel Bostan, who underscored the importance of long-term collaborative relationships between UTM and Unistra. Mr. Bostan highlighted the many joint projects that have strengthened academic partnerships and created beneficial prospects for both students and faculty.
During the meeting, Mr. Jean-Claude Million was awarded UTM’s highest distinction, in recognition of his continuous commitment and remarkable contributions to the collaboration between the two universities. On this occasion, Rector Viorel Bostan noted:
“As we celebrate 60 years of academic excellence, we express our gratitude to Mr. Jean-Claude Million for his unwavering support and valuable collaboration. His projects have strengthened the ties between our universities and promoted the values of excellence and international cooperation that form the foundation of UTM’s mission.”
The delegation was accompanied by UTM’s leadership team, including Vice-Rector for Digitalization, Dinu Țurcanu, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Daniela Pojar, and Head of the International Relations Service, Nina Puțuntean. During the meeting, the members discussed new opportunities for international collaboration and academic development provided by the Erasmus+ MIC project.
This visit marks a new chapter in the fruitful cooperation between UTM and the University of Strasbourg, demonstrating the mutual commitment to sustainable academic partnerships.
