Impressive Performance by UTM Professors and Students at the China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in Hangzhou

We are proud to announce the success of the mixed team from the Technical University of Moldova, composed of representatives from the “Law” program within the Faculty of Constructions, Geodesy and Cadastre, and the Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business (Assoc. Prof. Viorica URSU, Assoc. Prof. Ala OBERȘT, Assoc. Prof. Rita MUNTEANU, and Law Program Coordinator Iurie IVANOV). They have achieved a significant milestone, being the only team from the Republic of Moldova to advance to the semifinals of the 2023 China (Hangzhou) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Overseas Talents (2023中国海外人扌创新创业大赛). The team’s project focuses on the theme: “The cultural heritage of two great civilizations: GETO-DACIAN and CHINESE – the legacy of their descendants”.

The competition is hosted by GITP Asia in collaboration with the Hangzhou government in China, along with ITTID Group Co. Ltd & Mexico China Center. It stands as an outstanding opportunity for talents from around the world to showcase their innovative ideas, engage with a global talent pool, and compete for prizes from a fund totaling USD 85,000. Additionally, high-achieving startups could secure extra funding through grants, reaching up to USD 700,000, to support their ventures.

The winning startups will not only receive a monetary prize, but will also gain substantial support if they choose to implement their projects in Hangzhou, a hub for companies like Alibaba.

Wishing you great success in the semifinals, dear colleagues! We avidly await updates from the grand finale of the competition!

P.S. We are eager to share with you the successes of our students and alumni, who have also registered for this major competition, and whose projects have already passed the registration phase!
