Between Algorithms and Art, Gabriela DUCA, the Girl with Four Perfect 10s at the Baccalaureate, Follows Her Dream at UTM

For Gabriela DUCA, graduating high school came with an extraordinary achievement: four perfect 10s in her Baccalaureate exams—a rare performance and clear proof of perseverance, intelligence, and dedication. This impressive accomplishment placed her among the elite youth who chose to continue their academic journey at the Technical University of Moldova. Proud to welcome her among its students in the 2025 admission cycle, UTM recognizes in Gabriela not only an outstanding academic talent but also the vision of an ambitious young woman.

Passionate about mathematics, Gabriela sees every problem as a challenge and every solution as a source of satisfaction. For her, numbers and formulas are not abstract notions but a language of clarity. Equally important is the English language, a passion sparked by a devoted teacher who transformed a school subject into a gateway to new horizons. “Math fascinates me, and I grew to love English thanks to an amazing teacher who inspired me,” Gabriela shares.

Between logic and language, between formulas and expression, a balanced personality has taken shape—one capable of excelling at anything she sets her mind to. These two seemingly different disciplines have built a strong foundation for her academic path, forming for her true bridges to the future.

Beyond academic excellence, Gabriela is a young woman with a sensitive soul. Painting is her refuge—a space of calm, freedom, and self-expression, where colors become unspoken words that help her reconnect with herself and the beauty of the world. This artistic side gives her balance and depth, proving that rigor and creativity can coexist harmoniously.

Asked how she found her way to UTM, Gabriela admits that she mapped out her path to UTM during a time of intense reflection, and her decision was both deliberate and well thought out. “In 12th grade, I started thinking seriously about my future. Even though I tried to delay it as much as I could, that pressure made me realize what I truly wanted.” The moment she decided on her future was “as stressful as it was exciting and thrilling.”

After carefully analyzing her options both in Moldova and abroad, she chose to pursue a degree in computer science at the Technical University of Moldova, within the Faculty of Computers, Informatics, and Microelectronics, drawn especially to the “Software Engineering” program. Taught entirely in English and known for its international standards, the program seemed like the natural choice—an academic setting that promotes excellence while also offering global perspectives. Her decision was also encouraged by her computer science teacher, who saw her potential and supported her in following this path with confidence.

“Stressful, fascinating, thrilling”—that’s how Gabriela describes this beginning. A perfect formula for a fresh start, where the future is no longer just an idea but a project that takes shape day by day.

After graduation, Gabriela DUCA sees herself working at an IT company, whether in Moldova or abroad—in a dynamic professional environment where she can apply everything she has learned, grow, and contribute to innovative projects with real impact.

Her story serves as an inspiration to all young people standing at the threshold of important decisions. She proves that hard work, passion, and a clear vision can turn dreams into reality. And UTM is proud to stand beside her on this journey toward excellence.

Welcome to the UTM family, Gabriela! We wish you to hold on to your courage, enthusiasm, and the clarity of your dreams—wherever this promising path may take you!
