Summary of the CREDO Project:

CREDO is a project within the programme TEMPUS financed by the European Commission. It is designed to advance capacity in education, research, innovation and exploitation of knowledge in the area of Renewable Energy and Environmental Technology in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Ukraine through cooperation with European Universities within a framework of Doctoral Programme.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Moldova and Kyrgyzstan are countries who are in the very beginning of turning to more sustainable energy systems, but as common problem they have a decreasing number of PhD students and therefore an ageing group of researchers and university teachers. CREDO will support universities in BiH, Ukraine, Moldova and Kyrgyzstan in their strive to reform and develop their doctoral education - the third cycle of education - to be in line with the Bologna process.

The eight universities from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Ukraine represent different geographical areas of the countries, which will ensure the great distribution of PhD student population and wide impact of the project results on sustainable development of many regions of partner countries. The partner Universities will get assistance from experienced European partners. The long history of cooperation between academic and non-academic partners of the project will become a stable background for successful project implementation, mutual learning and cultural exchange.

Timing of the project:   Start date: 15.10.2010   /   Duration: 36 months   /   End date: 14.10.2013.
