Government Excellence Scholarships Awarded to Five UTM PhD Students

Ana Chioru, Sergiu Paiu, Stanislav Rusu, Mihai Brânză, and Vitalie Jereghi are the five outstanding PhD students from the Technical University of Moldova who, in 2025, will receive the Government Excellence Scholarship or the Scientific Fields Scholarship. A decision in this regard was approved on March 12, 2025, by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, recognizing and valuing their effort, perseverance, and innovative spirit in research.

The Technical University of Moldova’s excellence scholarship recipients are pursuing doctoral studies in various fields, as follows:

Government Excellence Scholarship for 2025:

Ana Chioru – scientific specialty 253.06 “Biological and chemical technologies in the food industry”

Sergiu Paiu – scientific specialty 253.01 “Technology of plant-based food products (specifying products and processes)”

Stanislav Rusu – scientific specialty 411.06 “Pomology”

Scientific Fields Scholarship for 2025:

Mihai Brânză – scientific specialty 233.04 “Biomedical equipment and devices”

Vitalie Jereghi – scientific specialty 421.03 “Animal husbandry technology and production of animal products”

In total, PhD students from institutions organizing higher doctoral studies in the country will benefit in 2025 from 21 Government Excellence Scholarships (each worth 6,600 lei) and 6 Scientific Fields Scholarships (5,720 lei). By awarding the most talented PhD students, the Government of the Republic of Moldova aims to enhance the process of training scientific professionals and motivate young researchers to engage in research and development activities.
