UTM’s Solid Biofuels Scientific Laboratory Receives MOLDAC Accreditation: A New Step Toward Excellence in Renewable Energy Research

The Technical University of Moldova has achieved another outstanding milestone in scientific research with the MOLDAC accreditation of the Solid Biofuels Scientific Laboratory, part of the Research and Extension Center for Agriculture, Biodiversity, and Rural Development. This accreditation, granted by the national authority MOLDAC— a signatory of the European Accreditation Multilateral Agreement (EA-MLA)—certifies the laboratory’s compliance with European legislation for products and services, ensuring its results are internationally recognized.

This accreditation strengthens UTM’s position as a leader in renewable energy research, marking a significant step forward in the development of the solid biofuels sector. International recognition not only affirms the technical competence of the laboratory but also guarantees that its testing and analyses meet the highest European standards.

Key Benefits of the MOLDAC Accreditation:

  • Certified Technical Competence: Ensures the accuracy and reliability of the laboratory’s results.
  • Increased Trust from Partners: Collaborators and economic agents can confidently rely on the lab’s compliance with international regulations.
  • Expanded Opportunities for Funding and Collaboration: Accredited status opens doors to new research and development projects.

This accomplishment reflects the tireless efforts of the Solid Biofuels Scientific Laboratory team, who have demonstrated their ability to meet the highest European requirements, and highlights the continued support of UTM’s administration and the Directorate for Scientific Research Management.

The accreditation, in line with SM EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 standards, validates the laboratory’s capability to perform tests on specified products, as per the certificate issued on September 16, 2024. The accreditation remains valid as long as the laboratory continues to meet MOLDAC’s established criteria.

Congratulations to the team at the Solid Biofuels Scientific Laboratory and everyone involved in this remarkable achievement, which further enhances academic excellence and innovation at UTM!
