For a few days, the Technical University of Moldova became a true haven for wine enthusiasts. The tasting event, organized in collaboration with the prestigious WineHunter Awards team, showcased the finest Moldovan wines and attracted some of the most esteemed figures in the world of wine.
We are honored to welcome Helmuth Köcher, founder and president of The WineHunter Awards, Luciano Cescon, a world-renowned oenologist, and Mauro Giacomo Bertolli, director of italiadelvino.com. Their presence highlights the significance of the event and opens new horizons for Moldovan wines.
More than 110 wine samples from around 30 Moldovan wineries are being evaluated by a panel of experts. The selected wines will be featured in an influential catalog, presented at all Merano festivals worldwide. This offers exceptional international visibility for Wine of Moldova, providing unprecedented exposure and a unique opportunity to captivate the palates of wine connoisseurs globally.
True to the best traditions in the field and oriented towards innovation, the Technical University of Moldova, through the Faculty of Food Technology, is preparing a new generation of specialists in the field. The experience gained through such events is invaluable for our students, giving them the chance to interact with world-renowned experts and familiarize themselves with the latest trends in winemaking.
Organized at UTM with the support of the National Office for Vine and Wine, the event exhibits the potential of Moldovan wines and demonstrates that UTM, through its specialized programs, is a trusted partner in developing the viticultural sector. Combining tradition, passion, and innovation, our winemakers create products of exceptional quality that can compete with the best wines in the world.
