The Technical University of Moldova is consistently pushing the boundaries of innovation, offering exciting opportunities for young technology enthusiasts. Recently, UTM wrapped up a competition that awarded vouchers for international cybersecurity certifications. Twenty-seven talented individuals seized the chance to refine their skills and kickstart successful careers in this high-demand field.
Officially launched on May 2, 2024, following an agreement signed by UTM Rector Prof. Dr. habil. Viorel BOSTAN, Vice-Rector for Digitalization Dr. Dinu ȚURCANU, and the Executive Director of the Development Foundation of Moldova, Gabriela OJOG, this initiative targeted students and recent graduates with a passion for cybersecurity. The competition offered participants the opportunity to earn internationally recognized certifications such as “Network Security,” “Networking,” “Device Configuration and Management,” and “Cisco CCNA” through UTM’s Certiport and Pearson Vue examination centers, setting them on the path to promising careers in this dynamic and essential field.

On July 18, the evaluation committee, consisting of experts and industry leaders—Dinu ȚURCANU, Vice-Rector for Digitalization, UTM; Ludmila PECA, Director of the National Institute of Cybersecurity Innovations CYBERCOR, UTM; Andrian PRISĂCARU, Assoc. Prof., Department of Telecommunications and Electronic Systems, FET, UTM; Gabriela OJOG, Executive Director of the Development Foundation of Moldova; Victor CALAC, Development Foundation of Moldova—selected the competition winners. These talented individuals were awarded vouchers to take exams that meet the highest international standards.
Today, July 22, UTM Rector Prof. Dr. habil. Viorel BOSTAN, together with Ludmila PECA, Director of the National Institute of Cybersecurity Innovations CYBERCOR, and Gabriela OJOG, Executive Director of the Development Foundation of Moldova, handed the vouchers to the 27 winners, recognizing their hard work and dedication.
In his speech, UTM Rector Viorel BOSTAN emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in today’s society and congratulated the winners for their involvement and perseverance:
“Today we celebrate the excellence and dedication of these remarkable young individuals who have accepted the challenge of developing their skills in cybersecurity. We are extremely proud of you, dear winners! You have demonstrated passion and the desire to excel in a field crucial for our future. Congratulations!
