Today marks a significant day for high school seniors across the country! The Technical University of Moldova hosted a new edition of the Republican Technical Olympiad in Mathematics and Art, drawing an impressive crowd of 108 participants.
With the support of UTM Rector, Prof. Viorel Bostan, Dr. habil., and the dedication of the UTM Career Guidance and Counseling Center administrators, Radu Melnic and Natalia Șestenco, the Olympiad brought the competitive and creative spirit to the Râșcani academic campus. The organizers urged the participants to confidently showcase their knowledge and creativity. As mentioned by the coordinators, Mathematics and Art are the academic disciplines that form the basis of subjects in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Innovation, and Creative-Analytical Thinking categories.
A total of 53 students participated in the Mathematics Olympiad. The task involved solving competitive math problems that required knowledge of the high school curriculum, as well as ingenuity and creativity.
Meanwhile, the Art Olympiad, held in the modern halls of the Faculty of Food Technology and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Transport, brought together 55 participants. Their task was to craft a constructive drawing of still-life.
The sizable turnout and high level of involvement underscored the passion and dedication of young people in these fields.The Olympiad offered them a platform to exhibit their skills and nurture their potential within a dynamic and competitive environment.
This year’s edition of the Olympiad attracted high school students from all across the country, including Chișinău and its suburbs, along with various districts—Călărași, Orhei, Nisporeni, Strășeni, Criuleni, Ialoveni, Anenii Noi, Hâncești, Ștefan Vodă, Cimișlia, Briceni, Fălești, the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, from the left side of the Dniester, and from Ukraine.
The organizers extend sincere thanks to the teachers and school administrations for their contribution to the students’ preparation and for encouraging their participation in the Olympiad. Their support has provided students with the opportunity to shine and reveal their knowledge and talent!
Launched 26 years ago, in 1998, the Republican Technical Olympiad organized by UTM has become a cornerstone in promoting excellence and creativity among the youth of the Republic of Moldova. Winners benefit from admission facilitations at UTM (in accordance with admission regulations), having the chance to continue their education at one of the most esteemed universities in the country—the Technical University of Moldova.
