The Student Scientific Circle “Marketing in Contemporary Economy” – An Interdisciplinary Pathway to Success

How can one build a successful image in today’s economy? Regardless of the field, having a grasp of marketing is essential for effective communication, promoting ideas or products, and building a favorable image. Thanks to the vision of the professors within the Department of Economic Theory and Marketing at the UTM Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business, the Technical University of Moldova offers an ideal platform for such development—the Student Scientific Circle “Marketing in the Contemporary Economy”.

It serves as a hub for young people passionate about marketing and economics, as well as those interested in honing their skills in an ever-evolving environment. Through monthly meetings, participants have the opportunity to actively engage in researching and understanding the major changes that influence the contemporary economy, covering technological advancements, globalization trends, and demographic shifts, all while emphasizing the importance of modern marketing tools.

Under the guidance of the coordinating professors, students contribute with relevant ideas and analyses within their area of interest. Leading these efforts are individuals like Mihaela VÎRLAN, a second-year student at the Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business, alongside Assoc. Prof., PhD Svetlana GANGAN and Assoc. Prof., PhD Lilia CHIRIAC.

The Circle offers an interdisciplinary outlook, delving into topics spanning marketing, economics, sociology, psychology, IT, and beyond, providing a holistic view of the business world. From studying neuromarketing practices in international companies to examining the impact of ecomarketing on transportation in the Republic of Moldova and fostering rural development through smart solutions, each topic sheds light on vital aspects of today’s economy.

A distinctive feature of the Circle is the emphasis on practical applicability of research. Students are encouraged to explore how the theoretical concepts translate into practical approaches in the real world of business. From modern market research methods to brand image evaluation for optimizing brand strategy, each discussion opens up new avenues of thought, providing fresh insights into the integration of marketing and economics in contemporary settings.
