The Center for Career Guidance and Counseling (CCGC), recognized as the “career catalyst” at the Technical University of Moldova, aims to inspire young people eager to pursue a career in the world of design and fashion innovation. In this regard, from March 14th to March 22nd, the center organized visits for students from centers of excellence and specialized colleges in the light industry sector to the Faculty of Design at UTM.
The first stage of this initiative kicked off on March 14-15 with a fascinating journey into the creative universe of the UTM Faculty of Design for students from the Technological College of Chișinău, specifically the MTTP-321, MAE-326, MTC-442, MTT-428, and MTC-343 groups. Accompanied by their teachers Victoria ANDRIAȘ, Natalia RUSU, Olga GADJIU, and Olesea SÎNCHETRU, the students had the opportunity to explore the modern facilities of the faculty, interact with current students, and become acquainted with the study programs and career prospects after graduation.

On March 20, students from the Center of Excellence in Light Industry in Chișinău, under the guidance of their teacher Inga POSTICA, paid a visit to the UTM Faculty of Design. Then, on March 22, the FD-UTM hosted students from groups M-014 and M-113 of the College of Light Industry in Bălți, along with their teacher Tatiana POPOVICI and psychologist Natalia OLEINIC.
The students enjoyed a guided tour through the facilities of the Faculty, visited the study halls and laboratories, and admired the exhibitions of works by students specializing in “Technology and Design of Textile Confections” (TDCT) and “Industrial Clothing Design” (DVI) within the Department of Design and Textile Technologies. Additionally, they engaged in interactive dialogues with students from the TDCT and DVI study programs, who shared their enthusiasm for the creative ambiance that prevails on the Faculty campus—a secluded place in a picturesque setting, away from the hustle of the city, ideal for giving free rein to one’s imagination and fully dedicating oneself to creation.

Following their visit to the Faculty of Design, the students naturally progressed to the ZIPHOUSE Center—a dynamic Fashion Hub that not only shapes the future of the country’s fashion industry but also serves as a collaborative space for learning, networking, and development. Under the guidance of Carolina TULGARA, the director of ZIPhouse, the students explored the center’s impressive facilities—an environment for designers who elevate our global reputation.
Moreover, the students had the opportunity to engage in a discussion with Marcela LOZOVANU, the Executive Director of the Employers’ Association in the Light Industry. During the dialogue, she introduced them to employment prospects within the light industry sector and discussed the potential for professional growth in this dynamic field.

Afterward, the students toured the UTM Center for Career Guidance and Counseling at UTM (CCOC), where they were introduced to the facilities and unique features of the university’s faculties and study programs by the director, Radu MELNIC, and the deputy director, Natalia ȘESTENCO. The guests received essential information to help them make informed decisions about their academic and professional choices.
The hosts expressed gratitude to the administrations of the educational institutions—Maria MANOLE, Deputy Director of the Technological College in Chișinău, Alexandra RAEȚCHI, Director of the Center of Excellence in Light Industry, and Elena STATNIC, Deputy Director of the College of Light Industry in Bălți. Their commitment to fostering collaborative relationships with the UTM Faculty of Design aids in guiding young individuals passionate about art and innovation on their path towards academic and professional excellence.
