Fueled by inspiration and a wholehearted commitment to innovation, the Technical University of Moldova has welcomed young tech enthusiasts into the captivating world of technology through a much-anticipated event – “Between us IT Girls” – a collaborative effort with the Embassy of Japan, ATIC, Tekwill, UN Women, UTM, and BEST Chișinău. Organized on November 20th, this event is part of a series of activities under the shared theme “IT4Girls: Trainings in Academia”.
The event’s schedule was packed with special and inspiring moments. The participants were greeted by Irina ORIOL – COO ATIC, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Dumitru CIORBĂ – Dean of FCIM-UTM, and Daniela ISTRATI – Lecturer at UTM. Following the introductions, the attendees were invited to a session on Gender Equality, led by Mrs. Elena RĂȚOI, an expert in the field. She delivered an exceptional speech on “Gender Equality: From Current Realities to Equal Opportunities,” sharing her vision for a more equitable future in the IT industry.
Next up were group work sessions: “Social Media Phenomenon” with Elena GOGOI, a lecturer at UTM, and “Creating Digital Content” with mentors Svetlana COJOCARU and Ludmila DUCA. These practical workshops gave participants the chance to dive into digital content creation, all while receiving valuable feedback from the mentors.
The event concluded with a celebratory moment, during which the participants received certificates, acknowledging their dedication and efforts.
It was a memorable and successful event, and we look forward to continuing this journey together in the world of technology: on November 27, 2023, at Tekwill Comrat, and on November 30, 2023, at Nortek Tekwill Bălți.
