UTM launches 3 guides in Food and Nutrition Security

2023 starts with great news! The team led by Assoc. Prof., Dr. Rodica SIMINIUC delights us with 3 guides in the field of Food and Nutrition Security, newly published under the State Program no. 20.80009.5107.10.

The first book, titled GUIDE FOR TEENAGERS (GIRLS), is aimed at girls between the ages of 9 and 18, especially those going through puberty. The guide includes aspects of nutritional education and the elements of a balanced and healthy food ration for the respective age. All basic concepts regarding the chemical composition of food products, the issues related to unhealthy eating, as well as the recommendations regarding nutrition and a healthy lifestyle are presented in an easily assimilable form. Special emphasis is placed on the importance and impact of lifestyle – namely sleep and physical activity – on diet and health.

The second book, titled NUTRITION GUIDE FOR TEENAGERS (BOYS), includes useful and relevant information about nutrition for boys going through puberty, as well as the basics of a healthy and balanced diet. The guide provides recommendations regarding the correct choice of foods, in terms of both quality and quantity, according to one’s requirements for energetic and nutritional balance.

The final book of the series, titled NUTRITION AND PREMENSTRUAL SYNDROME, offers practical support for girls and women of reproductive age. The guide aids in becoming more aware of the physical and emotional changes a woman goes through during the menstrual cycle, understanding the impact of nutrition on PMS, and opting for a correct and healthy diet. Thus, the reader will be able to naturally prevent or reduce the unpleasant sensations and discomfort faced every month, therefore feeling more active and energetic.

We express our gratitude to the team behind this project – Dinu ȚURCANU (member of the project and co-author of the respective guides), Vladislav REȘITCA, Aurica CHIRSANOVA, Alina BOIȘTEAN, Eugenia BOAGHI, Tatiana CAPCANARI, Violina POPOVICI, led by the head of the State Program no. 20.80009.5107.10 – Rodica SIMINIUC!
