2023 started with excellent news for the Technical University of Moldova – the forecasts in the field of research are exceptionally auspicious.
The National Agency for Research and Development announced the results of the competition for the selection of projects to be funded by NARD and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey – TÜBİTAK (shorturl.at/ltzEF). Among the accepted projects is UTM’s “Detecting Minute Spoilage in Wine through a Handheld Device in the Field”, developed under the supervision of project proposal leader from Republic of Moldova, Assoc. Prof. Dan ZGARDAN, Technical University of Moldova, and project proposal leader from Turkey – Dr. Fatih INCI, Bilkent University).
Concurrently, NARD published the final list of selected projects in the “Projects for young researchers” contest, 5 out of 13 belonging to UTM (shorturl.at/dmnq9):
- “Increasing the efficiency of the drying process of fruits with seeds through combining convection and microwaves” (project director: Mihail BALAN; strategic direction: New technologies for processing agricultural raw materials. Agro-food biotechnologies);
- “The valorization of the indigenous flora of the Ștefan Vodă wine-growing region in order to increase the authenticity and competitiveness of Moldovan wines” (project director: Ecaterina COVACI; strategic direction: New technologies for processing agricultural raw materials. Agro-food biotechnologies);
- “Research and synthesis of efficient attitude control algorithms for nanosatellites” (project director: Irina COJUHARI; strategic direction: Materials, technologies and innovative products);
- “Valorization of vegetable proteins from by-products of the local fats and oil industry” (project director: Oxana Radu; strategic direction: New technologies for processing agricultural raw materials. Agro-food biotechnologies);
- “Phytostimulation and combating fusarium wilt in eggplant culture by applying biological methods” (project director: Maxim BÎRSA; strategic direction: Sustainable Agriculture).
