Staff mobility for teaching between PROGRAMME and PARTNER COUNTRIES presents rewarding opportunities for teachers of the Technical University of Moldova: professional growth, personal development, and exchange of experience with other European educational institutions. Two lecturers-architects of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Dr. Aurelia CARPOV and Dr. Svetlana OLEINIC, benefited from such an internship within the Erasmus+ ICM program, at the University of Malta, Faculty for the Built Environment, Department of Architecture and Urban Design.
The internship included theoretical courses on contemporary architecture and innovative training programs for young architects in the 20th and 21st centuries. Under the guidance of Dr. Lino BIANCO from the University of Malta, our professors participated in discussions regarding the research of the masters of Architecture, proposing suggestions for the improvement of the analyzed Master’s theses.
Additionally, the mobility program included the collecting of information for the comparative analysis of the architecture of residential and public buildings within the Basics of Architectural Composition and History of Contemporary Architecture courses, as well as joint scientific research and publications involving student-architects of the Technical University of Moldova.
The professors of UTM who participated in the implementation of the program express their gratitude for the received assistance and support to Dr. Lino BIANCO – professor of the University of Malta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Malta in Romania and Moldova, as well as Mr. Jake GRECH – Erasmus+ ICM UM Program Coordinator, for organizing the mobility experience.
