The Department of Social-Human Sciences, TUM, appreciated by the Council of Europe for best practices in promoting academic integrity

Strengthening and promoting the culture of academic integrity is an objective that requires focused and sustained action, and the Department of Social-Human Sciences within FCIM-TUM adopts this role, recognized by the Council of Europe, urging every member of the academic community – teachers, students and administrative staff – to take joint responsibility for achieving this important goal.

Today, December 7, 2021, on the eve of International Anticorruption Day, during the Annual Conference and Award Ceremony, organized by the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, Agora Building, the “Best Practices in Promoting Academic Integrity” were awarded. The event brought together over a hundred participants, providing an opportunity for representatives of government institutions of the academic community, students and other interested professionals to discover good examples of implementation of tools and mechanisms by higher education institutions in order to strengthen Ethics and Transparency in Education.

The top 10 best practices proposals to be awarded were selected from the universities of Amsterdam, Montenegro, Oslo, Groningen, Ukraine and Rotterdam. As for the Republic of Moldova, the institution that stood out was the Technical University of Moldova, represented by the Department of Social-Human Sciences (DSSU), Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics.

The Council representatives noted that, among DSSU’s activities, there are actions aiming to promote academic integrity at an individual level (I), university level (We), interuniversity level (You) and international level (All).

– It is a unique experience for us to share best practices and learn together, within the international academic community, and for this we thank the organizers, mentioned the head of the Department of Social-Human Sciences at FCIM-TUM, assoc. prof., PhD in Philosophy Ecaterina LOZOVANU, noting the support provided by lecturers Dr. Andrei PERCIUN, assist. lect. Alexandru LUPUȘOR and the unconditional dedication of assist. Cristina LAZARIUC.
