The “Teacher for a day” initiative, introduced by the Career Counseling and Guidance Center (CCOC) of the Technical University of Moldova, was successfully inaugurated a week ago at the “Ion Creangă” Theoretical High School in Chișinău. The two classes of Computer Science conducted by the young teacher from the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics, assist. lect. Ernest BÎTCA, made a wonderful impression on the Computer Science teachers from the “Ion Creangă” High School – Viorica JUC and Lilia MIHALACHE. Thus, TUM was invited to return with a presentation about FCIM.
The response of the CCOC-FCIM team was not long in coming. Soon, the high school welcomed the CCOC representatives – director Radu MELNIC, deputy director Natalia ȘESTENCO, designer Sandu GORIȚĂ, and the FCIM representatives – dean, assoc. prof., PhD, Dumitru CIORBĂ, assoc. prof., PhD in Engineering, Viorica SUDACEVSCHI, head of the Department of Computer Science and Systems Engineering, assoc. prof., PhD in Computer Science, Ion FIODOROV, head of the Department of Software Engineering and Automatics; univ. assist. Varvara CIORBA from the Department of Software Engineering and Automatics and univ. lect. Andrei BRAGARENCO, from the Department of Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering. The professors gave an exhaustive presentation of the study programs within FCIM – Computers and Networks, Applied Informatics, Information Management, Robotics and Mechatronics; Automatics and Informatics, Software Engineering, Information Security and Information Technology; Applied Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Microelectronics and Nanotechnologies. The TUM staff was accompanied by a team of students who displayed over 20 projects developed by them and successfully presented in various student competitions.
The visit was part of the Exact Sciences Week organized at the Public Institution “Ion Creangă” Theoretical High School in Chișinău at the initiative of the Computer Science teachers Viorica JUC and Lilia MIHALACHE.
