2021 Admission: Assessment and Results

Throughout this year, the pandemic continued to affect our daily lives, thus making the admission process a fairly serious exam for filling the available places in the university. Yesterday, the TUM Senate assessed the report of the secretary of the TUM Admission Commission, Radu MELNIC, who presented the results of the 2021 Admission and the prospective tasks.

This year’s Admission campaign included a series of innovations in career guidance and activities for promoting engineering specialties, as well as the popularization of technical creativity by organizing various competitions and exhibitions with works done by Bachelor, Master and Doctoral students, mentioned Radu MELNIC, the responsible secretary of the TUM Admission Commission.

The preparation of the Admission campaign has started with the traditional Baccalaureate exam preparation courses, the organization of the Technical Olympiads in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Drawing, the “Young Creator” contest, meant to discover the aptitudes of future candidates and to offer the winners advantages within the admission contest. The Admission campaign included the Doors Open Days at TUM, the university project “Student for a day”, the exhibition “Creation opens the Universe”, but also online and offline meetings with the candidates; discussions through the Call Center; consultations through e-mail, social networks, various VoIP multiplatforms; implementation of the application for submitting documents online and online method of payment of the registration fee for the admission contest; scheduling appointments for the offline submission of documents in order to avoid congestion, etc.

The efforts were reflected in the actual results of the admission, the meticulous analysis of which generated a set of satisfactory conclusions and prospective proposals.

In conclusion, the TUM Senate appreciated the activity of the Admission Commission with the qualification “very good”. On behalf of the teaching staff and the University administration, the TUM Senate thanked all the members of the Admissions Commission, technical commissions, Information Technology and Communications Directorate, Student Union Committee, Student Service and all TUM subdivisions involved in the admission process.
