In September 2021, the project initiated by CRDF Global – an independent non-profit organization in the United States, supported by the Center for Research and Training in Cyber Security (CCISC) and the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics of TUM, was successfully completed.
On September 27, 2021, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the University Agency of La Francophonie – AUF, the Technical University of Moldova had the honor to receive the visit of the rector of the University Agency of La Francophonie, Slim KHALBOUS, and the Regional Director of AUF for Europe Central and Eastern, Mohamed KETATA.
Throughout this year, the pandemic continued to affect our daily lives, thus making the admission process a fairly serious exam for filling the available places in the university. Yesterday, the TUM Senate assessed the report of the secretary of the TUM Admission Commission, Radu MELNIC, who presented the results of the 2021 Admission and the prospective tasks.
On September 24, 2021, the Technical University of Moldova launched a new Master’s program: “Vocational Pedagogy – Engineering and Manufacturing”. Aimed at teachers within Vocational Technical Education (VET), the program was supported by the “Promoting Technical Vocational Education for a Green Economy” project, implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit – GIZ) and co-funded by the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development (SDC).
As of October 6, 2021, the consortium consisting of seven universities in the Republic of Moldova (UTM, USM, ASEM, USMF, UASM, USARB, USC), partners in the MHELM project, launches training courses within the “Leadership and Management” Continuing Education Program, aimed at leaders and managers of higher education institutions, as well as university staff aspiring to the career of a university manager.
International cooperation is one of the main focuses of TUM’s Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business. In this context, the Technical University of Moldova received a visit from a good friend of the institution, the American professor, Dr. Valerie MOCK.
On September 25, the Technical University of Moldova participated in a series of events organized on the occasion of the European Cooperation Day in the Republic of Moldova, now at its 10th edition. The event, titled “Overcoming borders for strengthened cooperation”, included the presentation of the results of EU-funded projects.
On September 24, the Technical University of Moldova hosted the grandest event of the year, which brought together two large-scale events traditionally held at TUM: the exhibition “Creation opens the Universe”, at its 10th edition, and “European Researchers’ Night”, at its 8th edition. The event included 15 workshops, interactive activities, masterclasses, public lectures, a fashion show, as well as exciting tours around the TUM spaces.
The professors of the Department of Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering within the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics – prof., Dr. Oleg LUPAN, lect., Dr. Nicolai ABABII, univ. assist., Dr. Nicolae MAGARIU, and prof., Dr. Artur BUZDUGAN – published the results of their scientific research on sensors for battery monitoring in the prestigious international scientific journal Chemosensors, specializing in the science and technology of chemical sensors and related analytical methods and systems, with an impact factor of 3.398.
A premiere for the Republic of Moldova: On September 22, at the third edition of the “Champions of Change 2021” Gala, 15 people were awarded the title of “Champions of Change”.
