Do you speak English? Parlez-vous français? Sprechen Sie Deutsch? In the age of globalization, knowing a foreign language has become more of a necessity than a luxury, oftentimes being a mandatory prerequisite. It is essential to know one or more foreign languages, and thus discover and explore other cultures and their unique literature. Language learning is not just about studying. It is about creating an extraordinary connection with the world around us.
The Department of Foreign Languages of TUM organizes the Foreign Languages Week, between March 22-26, 2021 – an event in which linguistic diversity, multilingualism and lifelong language learning are celebrated.
The event organizers aim to bring to the attention of academics and students the opportunity to enrich and, concurrently, prove their knowledge of languages and culture within a series of activities, to which foreign professors and students are invited.
The Foreign Languages Week will include scientific communication within the faculties of TUM; the organization of round tables on the topic: “The German language in the engineering environment”; „The symbolism of the Romanian traditions” (organizers: gr. TMAP-202, FTA), but also of the workshop „La rédaction du dossier d’embauche” (FIMIT + FTA).
The event schedule will also include a number of contests, including the Poster Contest “The evolution of the speciality over time”, as well as the contest of design models and projects, with the product description in video, audio or photo format, and the “Presentation of the specialty in a foreign language” Contest, which includes the directing of a film or a promotional video with the title: “Engineers create the future!”.
All events will be organized online.
The Foreign Languages Week is an event dedicated to the importance of studying foreign languages and intensifying international interuniversity relations.
