The first Senate meeting of this year, held online on the Cisco Webex platform, was dedicated to the award ceremony conducted for the professors, PhD students and UTM students who, during 2019-2020, have obtained excellent results in various didactic-scientific fields.

In October 2020, professor Ion JARDAN brilliantly defended his Doctoral Thesis in Mathematical Sciences at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics “Vladimir Andrunachievici”, and today he was handed his Doctoral Degree in Mathematical Sciences at the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research.
The Technical University of Moldova holds the leading position among the universities of the Republic of Moldova, according to the latest report (Universities: January 2021 Edition 2021.1.0 beta: http://webometrics.info/en/Europe/Moldova%2C%20Republic%20of) published by Ranking Web of Universities (Webometrics) on January 27, 2021, a ranking that currently includes over 31,000 universities worldwide, including higher education institutions in the Republic of Moldova.
Starting with their second year at the University, the students of the study program “Architecture” within the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning of UTM carry out their workshop projects on “Conceptual Housing” with the help of advanced 3D modeling tools – Allplan and Lumion (for architectural visualization).
Beside the art exhibits of medieval calligraphers from the collections of the National Library and the National Archives Agency, the exhibition “The Art of Handwriting”, inaugurated on January 22nd in the Book Museum within the National Library, included works by students of the Design and Printing Technology department of the Faculty of Textiles and Polygraphy within the Technical University of Moldova.
The technical-scientific library of the Technical University of Moldova offers online access to the collection of teaching publications edited at UTM and published in electronic format. Access is available for teachers, auxiliary teachers, students, master students, doctoral students of UTM.
The Technical University of Moldova benefited from a generous donation of sports equipment within a partnership supported by several contributors from the Netherlands.
A series of activities aiming to promote STEM strategies (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in pre-university education institutions are planned by the Technical University of Moldova, with the support of the Center for Career Information and Guidance – CEGHID (director: Radu MELNIC).
The directing of the professional training program “Leadership and Management”, intended for managers of higher education institutions, refers to the work package 2.2, the purpose of this guidance program being for the project members to follow the training program, as trainees. At the end of the piloting session, the program will be evaluated by all project members, in order to improve it for future trainees.
The students of classes ARH-191 and ARH-192 of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, from the specialty “Architecture”, and their teacher, lect. Mariana HADJI-BANDALAC, organized a gallery of artworks for those who enjoy the beauty and diversity of the art of shapes and proportions.
