The Technical University of Moldova (UTM) was positioned first among the universities in the Republic of Moldova included in the international ranking of QS universities for Emerging Europe and Central Asia (EECA), released on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
According to the ranking (https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/eeca-rankings/2021), UTM took the 251-300 position in this geographical area, out of 400 universities included in the ranking.
“I am honored to see that UTM has advanced this year and is ranked first among Moldovan universities, because QS is one of the most important international rankings of universities. At the general QS ranking of summer 2020, only two universities from Moldova were included, both on the same position (301-350): the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) and the State University of Moldova (USM)”, says the vice-rector of UTM, Dinu ŢURCANU.
The ranking represents the regional component of the International Ranking of Universities made by QS, contributing to the differentiation of universities regionally and globally according to indicators such as academic reputation, productivity of research based on papers published by teachers, university reputation among employers, international relevance of research, web impact, PhD teaching staff, impact factor of citations in papers, the ratio between the number of students in a university and the number of teachers in that institution and the international perspective on students and teachers.
