The second stage of the “Educație Online” project was launched at UTM

The second stage of the project “Educație Online” (involving teachers and coordinators from all around the country) has been initiated at the Technical University of Moldova, in the presence of the minister of Education, Culture and Research, Igor ŞAROV, of the mayor of Chișinău, Ion CEBAN, of the rector of UTM, prof., Dr. Viorel BOSTAN, and of professors, coordinators and partners.

As a sign of appreciation for the support received from the UTM team, the enthusiasm of the City Hall representatives and the effort of teachers and partners, the minister Igor Șarov emphasized that this great joint action has revolutionized the education system in Moldova and is a worthy example to follow.

– Educatieonline.md, as announced from the very beginning, is an ambitious, large-scale project with a valuable impact. The memorandum concluded between the City Hall of Chișinău and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research made us responsible to support education, to offer students, parents and teachers support in teaching, a new type of library, with interdisciplinary storage of electronic educational resources, a modern library, which includes closed and open multimedia resources, said the Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Igor Şarov.

– I went to the Technical University of Moldova, where the filming of courses for all school subjects has already started and is currently in progress, in order to complete the digital library of educatieonline.md. I am proud to say that “Educație Online” (Online Education) has become a successful national project, a project necessary not only during a pandemic, but for any circumstances. It is an additional learning option for students. Of course, I want the students to return to the school classrooms from September 1, but we have to be prepared for any scenario. Children have the right to education and we must ensure this right, said the mayor of the capital, Ion CEBAN.

The officials visited the classrooms inside the Technical University of Moldova, where video courses are still filmed, and talked to the authors of the courses of the second stage of the Online Education project, appreciating the fact that the digital library educatieonline.md will be supplemented with RED type digital resources: video lessons and interactive activities, in which students will be able to test their knowledge further. The open teaching materials (digital textbooks, presentations and exercises) are also uploaded on the platform.

The “Educație Online” project is an initiative of the Chișinău City Hall, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, created with the support of the Soros Foundation-Moldova, Technical University of Moldova, Edu Tolk Show, Crunchyroll, National Association of ICT Companies and Academy of Innovation and Change through Education.

The partnership within this project is based on a Memorandum of collaboration between the Chișinău City Hall and MECC, regarding the development of the digital library educatieonline.md. In the first stage of the project, the digital library included approximately 2,500 video lessons for students of grade I-XII, for all subjects, including both exact sciences and humanities (for general education), registering a total of over 6 thousand subscribers and over 1 million views for video lessons, both from the Republic of Moldova and from Romania, USA, Ukraine, Ireland, Great Britain, Italy, Russia, Germany and Spain.
