The journals of the Technical University of Moldova – “Journal of Social Sciences” and “Journal of Engineering Science” – are included in the list of the 18 journals that have obtained the status of scientific publications, based on the decision of the Commission for evaluation, classification and monitoring of scientific journals, established by representatives of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, The Council of Rectors and the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research.
Thus, the “Journal of Social Sciences” (JSS) was classified as part of the “C” category, and the “Journal of Engineering Science” (JES) is the only one recognized as part of the “B+” category. The certificates of recognition of the two journals as scientific publications were handed by the president of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research, Andrei CHICIUC, during a ceremony organized on July 23, 2020, at ANACEC.
Founded in 2018, the “Journal of Social Sciences” (https://jss.utm.md/), whose editor-in-chief is prof., Dr. Larisa BUGAIAN, focuses mainly on the fields of art and design; pedagogy and psychology; sociology; philosophy; history; philology and linguistics; library and information management; economics and management; finance and accounting; marketing and logistics; economic policies; law and legislation. With a quarterly periodicity (4 issues per year), the journal is an important platform for researchers who aim to address new issues in the humanities and social sciences.
And the “Journal of Engineering Science” (https://jes.utm.md/), edited by prof., Dr. Rodica STURZA, is an international journal focused on innovation and creativity in the field of engineering and includes four issues: Industrial Engineering (A); Electronics and Computer Science (B); Architecture, Civil engineering and Environment (C); Food engineering (D). The journal contains the results of scientific investigations of professors-researchers, contributing to the dissemination of information, intellectual training of students, PhD students and all readers. Being edited in English and having access to new international databases and catalogs, the journal certainly increases the visibility of UTM in the international scientific community. It is the successor of the quarterly technical-scientific magazine “Meridian Ingineresc” (Engineering Meridian), founded in 1995, whose uninterrupted appearance, in Romanian, for over two decades, was due to the editor-in-chief, prof., Dr. Valeriu DULGHERU.
During 2019-2020, within the four meetings of the Commission for evaluation, classification and monitoring of scientific journals, 25 evaluation files of journals from the Republic of Moldova were examined in order to obtain the status of scientific publication and classification by categories: A+, A, B+, B and C. As a result, 18 scientific journals were recognized, of which: 2 journals – in the “A” category, 1 journal – in the “B+” category, 12 journals – in the “B” category and other 3 magazines – in the “C” category.
