Today, May 29, 2020, at the Digital Careers Fair in Moldova – a premiere in the field of recruitment and employer branding events, a complex virtual experience, turning offline events into online promotion and recruitment opportunities, UTM vice-rector Dinu Țurcanu presented to the online public “New realities in the labor market for students and young graduates” – an innovative approach regarding the necessary skills and abilities for the professions of the Future.
On May 28, 2018, UTM launched a unique program for the moldovian educational domain – the Francophone university training program with an increased presence in the enterprises of the Republic of Moldova. The project was selected due to an international initiative started by AUF in 2017, being intended for students and teachers of the “Informatics” Francophone branch, in UTM. The project was supported by Pentalog Company and the Association of Companies in the Information and Communication Technology sector, having the University Institute of Technology in Rouen as a French partner.
On May 26, 2020, the meeting of the UTM Senate took place in a mixed format, some senators being present in the hall, and most – remotely, through the Cisco Webex tool, the connection being provided with the support of the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology. The rector of the Technical University of Moldova, prof., dr. Viorel BOSTAN, presented the second part of the annual report on the activity of the UTM Administration in 2019, the first part (execution of the budget plan for 2019 and planning of the UTM budget for 2020) being presented by the rector in the Senate meeting of April 30, 2020, organized in a mixed format, conditioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Wednesday, May 27, 2020, the Technical University of Moldova signed the collaboration agreement with the City Hall of Căușeni.
During the period of May 18-22, within the Erasmus+ project Moldova Higher Education Leadership and Management / MHELM, a virtual visit was conducted in the form of an online seminar on the topic of “University Strategy Building in a Regional Perspectives: Action Learning in University-Business-Society Cooperation”. The remote training replaced the study visit to the Institute of Social Studies (ISOB) in Regensburg, Germany. However, the pandemic demanded changes to be made in the format of the visit, which took place online.

Within the Nanotechnologies and Nanosensors Center of the Technical University of Moldova, new laboratory equipment for measuring and supplying electrical quantities, worth over 1 million lei, was purchased. The valuable acquisition is due to the selection of UTM as a partner in the NATO Science for Peace and Security (SPS) project G5634 “Advanced Electro-Optical Chemical Sensors” AMOXES, https://amoxes.unibs.it by the University of Brescia – Università degli Studi di Brescia.
The “Performance in Education and Research” Award, 11 gold medals, 6 – silver, 9 – bronze and 3 Diplomas of Excellence were earned by the researchers and inventors of the Technical University of Moldova at the 12th edition of the European Exhibition “EUROINVENT 2020”, held between May 21-23, at the Palace of Culture in Iași.
