Eugenia COVALIOV, Nadejda TURCULET and Alexei PIANÎH are the young researchers of the Technical University of Moldova who won 3 of the 73 grants awarded by the National Committee for Program Selection of “Eugen Ionescu” doctoral and postdoctoral research grants following the 2019-2020 launch by the Francophone University Agency (AUF) for Central and Eastern Europe.
The grants for French-speaking PhD students and professors provide for a three-month internship in a European country. The three AUF researchers of UTM will follow these internships at two universities in Romania: Eugenia COVALIOV and Nadejda TURCULET – at the “Dunărea de Jos” University in Galați, and Alexei PIANÎH – at the “Ovidius” University in Constanța.
The organizers stated that the arrangements for implementing mobility in the current circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic will be communicated to the beneficiaries at a later date by e-mail.
A total of 455 applications from 22 different countries in Central and Eastern Europe were submitted to the AUF. The program allows researchers from member universities of the Francophone University Agency to benefit from research mobility for 3 months, between May and July 2020, in one of the 26 higher education institutions in Romania, which have proposed research topics. The scholarship will cover a 800 euros monthly allowance for doctoral students and a 1000 euros one for postdoctoral students, round-trip transport expenses and medical insurance.
