Quarantine is not an impediment to the creative nature. The student-architect Igor CAPCANOV, first year at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, followed his inspiration and conducted his project: a decorative installation of the entrance sign on the territory of the Botanica campus of UTM, started during the study year and, eventually, completed remotely.

It is a project launched at the initiative of the Rector of UTM, prof., Dr. Viorel BOSTAN, and of the dean of FUA, assoc. prof., Dr. Sergiu BEJAN, for which, since February 20, the first year students from gr. ARH-191, ARH-192, ARH-193 started working, under the auspices of the professors of the Architecture Department – Svetlana OLEINIC, Silvia APOSTOL, Elena DIOMINA, V. ARAPU, and Aurelia CARPOV, head of the department.

The finalization stage of the project, including the execution of technical drawings and models, but also consultations, recommendations offered by teachers, coincided with the quarantine period, so that this extensive creative process took place remotely. The students managed to successfully complete the projects, within the established deadlines, presenting them via the internet.

The project “Decorative installation” presented by student Igor CAPCANOV was distinguished by its expressiveness, originality and the advantage of being easy to accomplish. He suggested a combination of the vertical monolith element with a light spatial structure. The logos of the specialties of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning are fixed on the surface of the installation, the composition being completed by the logo of the Technical University of Moldova and the possibility of additional lighting. Exceeding the requirements of the task, Igor executed the project not only manually, but also using computer graphics, thus demonstrating the ability to technically execute the project, the level of knowledge acquired at university, but also a fruitful imagination and creativity. His project was proposed for execution.

Congratulations to the FUA students!
