Today, the Technical University of Moldova continued its online Baccalaureate preparation courses with a Physics lesson, taught by the well-known professor of this discipline – Constantin PÂRȚAC, assoc. prof., PhD in the Physics Department of UTM. The topic of today’s lesson: “Molecular physics and thermodynamics”.
The professor began his lecture with a brief introduction on physical phenomena which can not be explained with the help of classical physics, including the transition of a substance from one state of aggregation to another; heat exchange between bodies, etc., after which he made a theoretical addition regarding the methods of studying these phenomena (thermodynamics and kinetic-molecular or statistical theory), but also a short recapitulation of the basic theoretical notions used to solve problems on this topic.
The teacher focused on the formulas that are directly related to the topic studied – molecular physics, coming with exhaustive explanations and using many of them in solving exercises during the course, starting from the simplest and gradually moving to more complicated ones. Regardless of the degree of complexity, the examples proposed for solving were carefully and rigorously selected: some – from various didactic-methodical sources of Physics (can be found on the website of the Department of Physics of UTM), and others – directly from the BAC exams from previous years (can be found on the website of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova).
This first online Physics lesson aimed at high school students, as well as the ones previously taught in the UTM auditoriums by UTM teachers, were organized due to the multiple requests of high school students who are preparing for the Baccalaureate exams. The impact on the audience was obvious during the live broadcast – over 23,000 people – who showed their appreciation for the effort and the dedication of the teacher behind the screen.
