ESRI courses in Geographic Information Systems

Between February 17-21st, 2020, ESRI Romania organized courses in the field of Geographic Information Systems, dedicated to teachers and students in Romania. Thanks to the favourable collaboration with the current administration of the Faculty of Constructions, Geodesy and Cadastre of the Technical University of Moldova, two representatives from the Republic of Moldova were invited to the courses – Dr. Eng. Livia NISTOR-LOPATENCO, dean FCGC, and assist. Dumitru BOTNARU, who successfully passed the ESRI test.

ESRI standard courses were organized into two modules: Introduction to GIS Using ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro: Essential Workflows, being of real use to the participants, implicitly our representatives from FCGC-UTM. Although the concept regarding the creation of the National Geographic Information System in the Republic of Moldova was approved in 2003, after 17 years of implementation, special efforts are required for the system to advance. The Technical University of Moldova implements the advanced experience in the field of geo-information systems development acquired in developed countries, especially Romania, in order to avoid possible errors, waste of time and financial means in search of already existing solutions and to meet the requirements of a true National Geographic Information System (SIGN), which is a complex of information resources integrated into a single system, created by the branch institutions, based on their competence and the branch distribution of powers.

Congratulations, engineers create the future!
