UTM academics, medaled by the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council

On Thursday, February 6th, 2020, the Institute of Studies and Power Engineering (ISPE) Bucharest hosted the General Assembly of the members of the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council CNR-CME.

One of the bullet points on the agenda of the General Assembly was the awarding of the Patent and the CNR-CME Medal, as appreciation for the special support granted to increase the prestige of the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council, at home and abroad.

Among the medalists, there were also two UTM academics – associate professor, Dr. Victor GROPA, dean of the Faculty of Power and Electrical Engineering (FEIE), and prof. Valentin ARION, Energy Department of FEIE-UTM.

The World Energy Council (CME) is the world’s largest energy organization. Founded in 1924, the organization currently has member committees in almost 100 countries of the world, one of them being the Romanian National Committee (CNR), one of the founding members of the CME world organization. CNR is run (since 2002) by Iulian Iancu, doctor in economic sciences, and has about 400 members, energy companies, faculties, universities, Romanian Academy, university professors, academics.
