Between December 9th and 10th, 2019, in Brussels, Belgium, the eTwinning training program “Programming for the 21st century classroom” was attended by two teachers from the Republic of Moldova.
The workshop was organized by the eTwinning Central Support Office in the Future Classroom Lab, European Schoolnet, and aimed to familiarize participants with the concepts of coding and algorithmic thinking.
The participants also enriched their knowledge about learning through coding, which helps to develop skills such as problem solving, abstract and critical thinking, communication, logical reasoning and creativity. These have an impact on the motivation of the students, as it encourages them to apply in practice the theoretical knowledge accumulated. During the workshop, the teachers also discussed the importance of programming in today’s society and education, ways to introduce programming in eTwinning, but also discovered and tested different programming tools that can also be applied in educational projects.
It should be mentioned that the participation in the event was covered by the National eTwinning Office Moldova-Technical University of Moldova from the sources granted for the eTwinning program by the European Commission and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova.
