FUA at the International Festival of Architecture, Engineering and Design Schools in Eurasia

After last year’s Day of the Faculty, when FUA welcomed their peers from over 25 countries at the International Festival of Architecture, Engineering and Design Schools from Eurasia, marking, in a newly renovated exhibition hall, the 46th anniversary of the Faculty of Urbanism and Architecture, this year, the FUA students sent representatives as delegates to Tashkent (Uzbekistan), where a new edition of the Festival was held between 14th and 18th of November, 2019.

Organized with the purpose of strengthening the role of universities in the professional orientation of students, training specialists according to the demand in the labor market and promoting and encouraging graduates with promising ideas and visions – future experts in architecture, construction and design, the event discussed scientific research works, software, innovations and modern technologies at the level of international collaborations with various schools in the creative fields.

Dean of FUA, associate professor, Dr. Sergiu BEJAN, lect. Ilie CEBANIŢA, Interior Design program, and lect., Dr. Sergiu TRONCIU, vice-dean of FUA, were proud to receive appreciation for the authors of the 11 Bachelor and Master projects of the graduates of the 2019 generation, recognized among the best in the BEST STUDY FINISHING PROJECTS category. In total, 520 projects and theses were submitted to the competition.

FUA-UTM students won the following awards at this year’s Festival:

SECOND PLACE DIPLOMA, Architecture Section: the project “Adaptive Re-use of Industrial Architecture, Chișinău” (author: Dumitru VLASOV, head: Teodor NAVAL);

THIRD PLACE DIPLOMA, Architecture Section: the project “Convention Center, Chisinau” (author: Mihaela TÎRŞU; head: Sergiu TRONCIU);

THIRD PLACE DIPLOMA, Interior Design Section: the project “Chocolat interior design “CHOCOLATE” (author: Marina MELNICENCO; head: Vladimir EPUREAN);

THIRD PLACE DIPLOMA, Fashion Design Section: the project “Elaboration of the women’s clothing collection, based on the expressiveness of the transparency and opacity of the materials” (author: Lia MUNTEANU; head: Ala LUPU);

SECOND PLACE DIPLOMA, Graphic Design Section: the project “Interactive cognitive book edition for children up to 3 years” (author: Ilinca STRILCIUC; head: Viorica CAZAC).
