During 1-3 November, third and fourth year students from the study program “Polygraphic Design and Technologies”, the Faculty of Textile and Polygraphy, accompanied by the associate professor, dr. Viorica CAZAC, associate professor, dr. Jana CÂRJA, head of the DTP program, Lucia ADASCALIȚA, visited the Packaging Exhibition for South-East Europe “Packshow 2019”, specialized in packaging, equipment, packaging systems, consumables, held at ROMEXPO, Bucharest, Romania.
For two days, DTP students and teachers were informed about the latest news in the field, offered by representatives of various companies from all over Europe. Relevant solutions for the implementation of integrated technologies, new formulas for the use of materials in the production of new aesthetic and constructive solutions, reliable equipment, biodegradable and intelligent packaging concepts – were the exciting topics offered by the event.
The agenda of the visit also included an aesthetic-cultural documentation at Theodor Aman Museum. The students had the opportunity to discover the aesthetic foundations promoted by the master Theodor Aman, co-founder of the Fine Arts School in Bucharest in 1864, the first Romanian artist with a school in the arts in the late medieval period, painter, teacher, sculptor, excellent engraver in aqua-forte technique. There was also a visit to the Romanian Athenaeum, which contributed to the enrichment of the students’ knowledge within the discipline “History of Arts”.
The BookArt printing company presented new technologies for finishing book editions and high-end equipment. Cristian MIHALCEA-UDREA explained the functionality of the equipment, giving the students the opportunity to observe the construction of the equipment and the operating principles.
At the incentive of the associate professor Emilia BALAN, UTM representatives also visited the POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest, enjoying an exchange of experience offered by the Erasmus+ program through academic and didactic mobility.
