TUM – UPB: new collaborations through Erasmus+ mobilities

The Technical University of Moldova (TUM) and the Polytechnic University of Bucharest (UPB) have taken a step forward in establishing a sustainable partnership through the Erasmus+ mobilities.

At the end of May, univ. Professor, dr. Victor Gropa, the dean of the Faculty of Energetics and Electrical Engineering (FEIE), TUM, benefitted from a teaching mobility scholarship at the Faculty of Energetics, UPB, and has successfully completed the extensive program in Bucharest. It included both teaching activities and fruitful exchange of experience with the heads of the Faculty of Energetics departments, UPB, in the context of establishing collaborations in applied and fundamental research.

The dialogue was initiated by prof. dr. Horia Necula, dean of the Faculty of Energetics, UPB, thanks to which this academical exchange of experience was possible, afterwards, dr. Dragos Niculae, dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UPB, intervened.

Important aspects regarding renewable energy sources, energy policies, environmental impact, etc., all in accordance with the program of the mobility, were addressed during visits to UPB departments – with prof. dr. Diana Robescu, director of the Hydraulics Department, Hydraulic Machines and Environmental Engineering; prof. dr. Cristian Dinca, director of the Department of Energy Production and Use; prof. dr. Constantin Bulac, director of the Electroenergetics Department, etc.

A productive exchange of experience on research cooperation opportunities resulted from the discussion with professor Virgil Dumbravă, vice-dean, responsible for admission and scientific research, and at the end of the mobility stage, the dean of FEIE presented the offer of studies, as well and the most relevant results obtained within the research projects carried out in Chișinău.

At the end of the internship, the dean of FEIE, Victor Gropa, has expressed his sincere thanks to prof. dr. Radu Porumb and prof. Lucian Toma, receiving total openness and admiration from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, one of the most prestigious technical universities in Romania.
