The Calls for Lithuanian State scholarships are already announced for 2025-2026 academic year

Our bilateral agreements (may be called MoU, Cooperation Agreement, Agreement of Academic Exchange, etc.) foresee a possibility of student exchange.

We are sharing with you the latest information for YOUR students about the possibility to come to Lithuania (to f.e. Mykolas Romeris University for exchange studies or for master degree studies).

The Calls for Lithuanian State scholarships are already announced for 2025-2026 academic year. Below we are outlining both calls: 1. State scholarships for short-term studies and 2. State scholarships for Full-time  Master degree studies:

1) Lithuanian state scholarships for short-term (1-2 semesters) mobility. The Call for next academic year (2025/2026)  is already launched by the Educational exchanges support foundation https://studyin.lt/scholarships/short-term-studies/  and it is a possibility to our bilateral partners to encourage their students to APPLY for state scholarhip for short-term mobility and come to Mykolas Romeris University for either autumn or spring semester or for both semesters.   There are 35 scholarships available in total. Candidates of the first and second study cycle, approved for the short–term studies, will receive a monthly scholarship of 560 EUR. Candidates of the third study cycle (doctoral students) approved for the short–term studies will receive a monthly scholarship of 1120 EUR. Deadline for the online application submission is 6 May 2025. Citizens of the following countries, who are Your University Students are eligible to apply:

  • Azerbaijan, Armenia, Australia, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, United Kingdom, the USA, Canada, Kazakhstan, China (People’s Republic of China and Taiwan), Moldova, New Zealand, South Korea, Ukraine, Uzbekistan,  Vietnam;
  • Foreign citizens of Lithuanian origin of non-EU and non-EFTA countries.

Students must physically study in Lithuania in order to receive the State scholarship. Remove studies are not eligible for financing. Students will be paid scholarship for the period they will study and be present physically at the receiving university.

Those students who are interested in applying for short-term state scholarship will be considered as nominated by your University (as your university will be signing the conditional agreement, a template of which is attached to this message) and  will have to complete two application forms:

2. an application for short-term state scholarship with all required documents through  the NEW online application system of funding :https://sistema.smpf.lt/

Candidates will be informed about the selection results by e-mail no later than 1 July 2025.

Please share this information with your University students and encourage them to take part in international exchanges between your University and Mykolas Romeris University.  All information (including List of courses) about exchange studies at Mykolas Romeris University are on our web-site  https://www.mruni.eu/en/university/internationalization/erasmus-and-exchange-studies-incoming/

2) Lithuanian State scholarhips for Full-time Master degree studies. The Call for the year 2025 is already launched by the Educational exchanges support foundation https://studyin.lt/scholarships/full-time-master-degree-studies/.  We also encourage our bilateral partners‘ last year undergraduate students (or master degree students) to apply for master degree at Mykolas Romeris University and simultaniously apply for the Lithuanian state scholarhips for Full-time Master degree studies. Students of our joint or double degree master  programmes (if such arrangements are in place between MRU and Your University are especially encouraged to apply for part of studies they will need to take at MRU).  Deadline to submit application – 13  May 2025.  Your University candidates are welcome to consider master degrees of Mykolas Romeris University https://www.mruni.eu/en/degree_type/masters-studies/

Funding under the Call will be provided to the citizens of Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China (People’s Republic of China and Taiwan), Israel, Japan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, New Zealand,  South Korea, Ukraine, The United States of America, Uzbekistan and foreign citizens of Lithuanian origin of non-EU and non-EFTA countries, 70 grants in total (monthly scholarships and grants covering the study cost), ensuring quotas for citizens of the following countries:

  • Ukraine (20 grants);
  • Foreign citizens of Lithuanian origin of non-EU and non-EFTA countries (5 grants).
  • No more than 10 grants are allocated to citizens from any other country, except for citizens of Ukraine and foreign citizens of Lithuanian origin.

A monthly scholarship is equal to 560 EUR. The grant covering the study cost is limited to and cannot be higher than the national standard study price.

Those students who are interested in applying for State scholarship for Full-time Master degree studies will have to complete two application forms:

    1. application form of MRU (at https://apply.mruni.eu )  for a chosen master degree programme
