I. GENERAL INFORMATION

The Department was founded at the same time with the establishment of Chisinau Polytechnic Institute in 1964.  Along the way, Nicolai CROLENCO, Anatolii MEHANICOV, Anisim SECRIERU, Eugeniu BOLBOCEAN, Iosip TVITINSCHI, Alexandr VORONCOV, Mihai CEAPA, Anatolii COVBASIUC, Gheorghe POPOVICI, Iurie CAPATINA, and Ivan STIRBUL exercised the position of head of department. From 2009, Sergiu DANTU heads the department. In 2014 based on Department, there was instituted the Section of Descriptive Geometry, Technical Drawing and Infographics.

II. DIDACTIC-METHODICAL ACTIVITY

Department provides the training process to the eight faculties of TUM. The Department teachers deliver courses to full-time and reduced attendance in the first license year and master at the disciplines:

  • Descriptive geometry
  • Technical drawing
  • Technical Drawing and Infographics
  • Technical Drawing in constructions
  • Engineering Graphics
  • Computer Aided Technical Drawing
  • 3D Modeling
  • Perspective
  • Advanced design methods in engineering

Educational process is carried out according with educational programs composed by the titulars of the courses and approved by the respective Faculty Councils. The disciplines objectives are achieved through the efforts of all the teachers and auxiliary didactic staff.

Methodical activity of the The Department aims to ensure the quality of educational process through continuous improvement of analytical programs and editing of methodical works. Based on own research in the recent years have been developed and published 7 manuals,  8 teaching materials and 20 methodological guidance, including:

III. SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ACTIVITY

The thematic objectives in the field of scientific research related to the training process optimization in graphic disciplines (scientific coordinator: Doctor in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Tudor PLESCAN). The results of scientific activity are expressed by publishing a monograph and more than 96 scientific articles and theses at conferences. In this context the collaborators activity is manifested through participation in symposiums, exhibitions, conferences and other international events. On 3-4 October 1995, at the section there was organized the International Conference on “Engineering Graphics and teaching methods”.

IV. MATERIAL AND TECHNICAL BASE

The Department disposes of 2 drawing rooms furnished with planchettes, with an interactive whiteboard, and 2 methodical cabinets endowed with didactic materials: variants of graphic works, methodical and informational fact sheets, assembly units, parts for sketching etc.

V. COLLABORATIONS

The scientific and didactical methodic collaboration are reflected by the participation of the departament’s staff in symposiums in university centers in Romania (Bucharest, Iasi, Brasov, Suceava, Timisoara, Sinaia, Craiova, Cluj-Napoca), Ukraine (Kiev, Kharkov, Melitopol, Alushta, Sevastopol) Russia, Belarus and others.
